Princeton Invasive Species Resolution
In December, 2016, Princeton passed a resolution recommending an invasive species Do Not Plant List. Through this resolution, Princeton is recognizing the ecological importance of native plants and the negative economic and environmental impacts of invasive plant species. They are encouraging homeowners, landscapers and nurseries to use the Do Not Plant list to guide their work. The list includes all of the most widespread invasive plants that D&R Greenway works to remove from our preserves, such as barberry, autumn olive and tree-of-heaven, which are a problem because they out-compete native species that are critical for wildlife. Interested homeowners can contact D&R Greenway with questions and visit our native plant nursery to find replacement plants. For the "Do Not Plant List" click here.
